Boil-'n'-pop the whole figure. Paint the arms, cloak, mid-tunic, belt sash, and boots black. Paint the pants,
inner and outer tunics dark blue. I trimmed down Qui-Gon's nose to make it look a little less like him, and
shaved off his beard. I then painted on a moustache and goatee, as well as a widow's peak. I made the scar
down his face from a run in with the Yuuzhan Vong also. Instead of painting it on, however, I used my
Exacto. Hold the blade at about a 45 degree angle to his face (over his left eye, the scar runs from
mid-forehead to almost his goatee). Press VERY lightly until you see a change in color of the plastic above
the blade. If you push too hard, you might cut a chunk out of his face, which would be bad. Now take the
lightsaber you've chosen (or made). Any saber with the blade painted yellow will work; I happened to have a
yellow sword from a cheap scrap figure lying around and thought I'd conserve a saber by using it. I did have
to trim it down some and repaint the parts yellow. |
