Olaf the Troll

This was one of those figures that you think will look amazing when it's finished, a masterpiece, the custom to end all customs. Though that may not be true, I took my time on it and really like how it turned out. I love secondary/minor characters, and though Olaf here only appeared in one ep, Abraham Benrubi is a great actor and the character has a great look to it. This started out as a Harry Potter figure (big guy, bushy beard). I sanded down his forehead and lower shirt sleeves, and built up his torso where the coat used to be to make the sleeves match up. A pain in the butt, though, was cutting out a quarter inch of his legs to make him more to scale. Big figures are cool and all, but he was actually too big! He still is a litttle tall, but that's the best I could get. I tweaked his facial features with sculpey as well as the horns. His braids are old twist ties painted and superglued on. His sash is a guitar strap from some other fodder figure. He has a fairly straightforward paint scheme: dark gray/green for the face, red/orange for the hair, black undershirt and pants, tan/gray outer shirt, and all of his clothes have healthy amounts of washes and drybrushes to dirty him up (mostly gray and brown). His troll- hammer is a length from Daena's (POTA) staff and sculpey for the hammer's head. When I have the time, I'm going to look for a barrel of some kind for a "barrel of ale" and maybe the talisman or whatever it was he was trapped in.
